LIL' MOVIE REVIEWS: POPSTAR: NEVER STOP NEVER STOPPING & CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

POPSTAR:
NEVER STOP NEVER STOPPING

Directed by Akiva Schaffer & Jorma Taccone/Written by Schaffer, Taccone & Andy Samberg

The Lonely Island did it. They actually made a good movie. Clearly, if you're not a fan of Andy Samberg and the boys' sense of humor seen in the Digital Shorts on SNL, then chances are greatly in favor of you hating this movie. But for those of you that found Natalie Portman rapping that you suck her dick, take the $15 (or whatever ridiculous price the theaters are charging tomorrow) and throw it down! Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping is pretty fucking funny as a modern-day update of Spinal Tap, as it parodies the ridiculous social media frenzies surrounding the marginally talented stars of today. Also the music is great, too. My personal favorite was the shot at Macklemore, but there are plenty of said shots to go around.

CAPTAIN AMERICA:
CIVIL WAR

Directed by Anthony Russo & Joe Russo/Written by Christoper Markus & Stephen McFeely

Just when I thought I've had about enough of the whole Avengers world, they go do something like this... and totally suck me back in. The Russo brothers remain at the top of the Marvel game once again as they combine comedy and superhero action with gritty darkness and actual character development once again to give us the best Avenger movie since the first Ironman. Yeah, I fucking said it and you can come at me with every superpower that you got, but it's the goddamn truth. Every character in this story is right and wrong at the same time, as the very smart script weaves a modern day tale that may hit very close to home for many on so many levels. This thing went on for almost three hours and I would've kept watching for two or three more.
