ARROYO SECO WEEKEND 2018 PREVIEW
by Dan Sinclair
As some as you may remember, Mr. Nicolas Bates and I covered in the inaugural
Arroyo Seco Weekend last year during two very, very hot June days in Pasadena.
If you do not remember (or just want to relive the whole thing all over again),
you should go here and check out our amazing coverage.
But either way, the fest must have been quite the success,
because it's back again for 2018! Let's take a look at the official lineup:
That's right-- Jeff Goldblum is back!! Let the world rejoice!! Okay, so aside from Mr. Goldblum, here are BeerMoviesMusic's official top 5 acts that must be seen per each day (in the order of importance to see, of course), all accompanied by a haiku written by yours truly.
SATURDAY 6/23:
1. Neil Young & Promise of the Real
No, Neil not so young
But all must see his set 'cause
The promise is real
2. Pretenders
Please don't get me wrong
If you see Chrissie Hynde
I will stand by you
3. The Specials
Calling all rude boys
And girls and men and women
Let's ska dance again
4. Jack White
No stripes, only Jack
Or perhaps he'd be higher
On this list today
5. Seu Jorge
Sure, we all saw Wes
Anderson's film, now see Seu
In Pasadena
SUNDAY 6/24:
1. The Bangles
Please run, don't walk like
An Egyptian or any
Person who may walk
2. Violent Femmes
If you're not seeing
Femmes at Arroyo Seco
You can just kiss off
3. Kings of Leon
Ouch. Reminded of
Bad memories of an ex
Replace with good ones
4. Alanis Morissette
Don't be ironic
You can't do this on TV
Wait, isn't she God?
5. Robert Plant & the Sensational Space Shifters
Let's be honest here
Robert only made this list
Because of his hair
Anyway, 2018 looks good and BeerMoviesMusic looks forward to checking it out. You can, too, if you go here.
